Guitarscaper is a generative music app and virtual instrument that offers a unique experience for users. By simply tapping the auto-play button, guitarscaper generates evolving and ambient guitar-based soundscapes, each time distinct from the last.

While all sounds in guitarscaper originate from a single electric guitar, they have been meticulously processed to produce an extraordinary "impossible guitar" capable of transitioning between orchestral swells and ethereal choir-like tones. This transcends the conventional boundaries of guitar music.

Guitarscaper in auto-play mode serves as an ideal companion for relaxation, study sessions, or providing soothing background music without intrusion during work or commutes. Users have the option to set a timer for falling asleep to its gentle melodies.

The app also functions as a virtual instrument, allowing users to play using dedicated keypads and performance loop recorders. It provides customization options through built-in reverb, delay, and "character" effects parameters. Additionally, guitarscaper can offer auto-accompaniment parts and suggest notes that might complement the user's playing.

As a sample-based instrument, guitarscaper currently supports two distinct "moods": a cheerful tone based on the E major / pentatonic Yo scale and a melancholic ambiance based on the Em pentatonic scale.

It is essential to note that guitarscaper does not support chromatic or MIDI capabilities and is not likely to do so in the future.

Users can record and process audio output from guitarscaper using any Inter-App Audio host supporting IAA Generators.

The app allows free usage for recordings, live events, and installations without royalties. A simple credit mentioning the app's name – "guitarscaper" – would be appreciated.
